Curbside
Delivery to the curb or driveway within a confirmed appointment window, with photo proof of delivery and customer signature capture.
Big & bulky final mile · Midwest
The last mile ends at an address. The extra mile happens inside it: the call ahead, the delivery instructions followed to the T, the floors protected, the piece placed where it belongs, the problem fixed while it still matters, the customer who mentions the delivery in their review. We built the whole company around that moment.
Highgate is a last mile logistics company
with two divisions: big & bulky final mile
for furniture, appliance, fitness and building
products, and an e-bike parcel operation in
New York City.
Independently owned and run by career last
mile operators. When you call, you reach the
people who own the outcome.
Years of last mile

The choice you're being offered
The national networks have the systems and none of the focus. The local carrier has the focus and none of the systems. And the good independents keep getting bought and folded into someone else’s platform. Highgate was built to be the option that stays: enterprise discipline, independently owned, and run by the same people you met on day one.
Service levels
Written into the contract, measured on every stop, and reported back to you weekly — so you always know what your customer experienced.
Delivery to the curb or driveway within a confirmed appointment window, with photo proof of delivery and customer signature capture.
Goods brought through the first doorway — entryway, garage or covered porch — protected from weather and left where the customer expects them.
Carried to any room on any floor, including stairs and tight turns, with floor and banister protection standard on every stop.
Full assembly and placement, packaging removed and taken away, and haul-away of the replaced unit where the program calls for it.
Program services · available at every level
Standard hookups completed on the spot — washers, dryers, refrigerators — by crews trained and insured for in-home work. Built-in and specialty installation is scoped per program.
The replaced unit removed and disposed of responsibly, and every box and blanket gone with the crew — the room is finished when we leave, not when the customer cleans up.
Scheduled pickups and same-stop exchanges, with condition documented by photo so the return moves back through the same accountable chain as the delivery.
How we run it
Shippers usually settle for a national carrier because of procurement risk, not service preference. Highgate is documented, insured and systematised to remove that objection entirely.
On-time percentage, first-attempt completion, damage rate and exception detail — reported weekly in a format your team can take into a business review.
Timestamped, geotagged images of placement and condition at delivery, retained and retrievable when a customer disputes a claim.
Confirmed delivery windows with advance notification and day-of arrival updates, so your customer service team isn't fielding the "where is it" call.
A written claims workflow with defined acknowledgement and resolution timelines, plus root-cause review on repeat issues rather than one-off credits.
Full DOT compliance program, maintained safety files, and coverage written at the limits enterprise shippers require. Certificates on request.
Every driver and helper on a Highgate route clears a background check, MVR review and drug screen, and works to a written in-home conduct standard we audit — because the person in your customer's living room is wearing your brand.
Who you’ll be working with
Christine Chan has spent her career in the last 100 feet. She co-owned and ran one of North America’s leading last mile companies until it was acquired by a public company. In 2023 she founded Highgate.
Highgate is founder-led and independently owned — not a chain, not a rollup. The person responsible for your freight is the person who owns the company. She brought the big-company discipline with her and left the bureaucracy behind.
Coverage
Density is what makes final mile work. We build route density in a market before we open the next one — which is why our cost per stop and our service both improve as your volume grows.
Chicagoland and the collar counties, with capacity into northwest Indiana. Dedicated box truck operation with a resident management team.
Greater Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin, linked to the Chicago operation for shared capacity and peak-season flex.
A high-density e-bike parcel operation in Manhattan, staffed by Highgate employees and running seven days a week. Always hiring riders →
Beyond our dedicated footprint we place and manage vetted capacity under our own authority — same standards, same reporting, same accountability. Bring dedicated volume, and we will build the market around it.
